Measuring in Reception

We have been inspired by the language of size from our traditional tales to explore measuring in our learning and choosing time. From small bowls of porridge to tall giants, from narrow rickety bridges to long forest paths, we have been using comparative language to grow our mathematical brains!

 

We enjoyed finding out each other's heights using bricks as our measuring tool. We then used this information to create a bar chart showing how many bricks tall each child was.
