Thank you for bringing in shoes and batteries over the last few weeks, we have collected quite a few bags full. Once we have enough we will send them away to the relevant companies. Please keep them coming in when you have them.
Continuing on the recycling theme, we have now received our first cheque for recycling printer ink cartridges.

Costume designing
This week in Reception we have become designers!
We watched a clip from 'The Incredibles' to inspire us to become a designer like the character 'Edna Mode' and design costumes for superheroes!
Here are a few of our designs:
We labelled our designs with the types of materials we were going to use, such as stretchy so they can move fast! As well as labelling the parts of the costume like the mask, belt and cape.
We had a lot of fun creating our own costumes, not long now until our Superhero dress up day next Thursday (17th March)

Free the carrots!!
In Reception this week we have been reading the story 'Supertato.' On Monday we made our own super carrots and talked about what they would be saying. Today we received a letter from the Head evil pea who told us that he has taken all of our carrots and put them in the freezer!!
The children set to work finding different ways of freeing the carrots from the frozen ice. They decided they could use the warmth from their bodies, screw drivers, force and hot water to warm them up. They worked together as a team to thaw out the carrots and showed care and concern for their superheroes.
The children also got to work making traps to catch the evil pea if he returned! Children also suggested creating a camera to watch the peas so they could work out where they are and catch them!
