Mike the Physiotherapist

We met Mike, a Physiotherapist!

He taught us about his job, and brought in some exercises and games that help us to move, breathe and make our muscles strong.

Stretching Physio bands helped strengthen the muscles in our arms.
Blow football helped us to use our lungs effectively

We all shared what we had learnt from Mike this morning, and thought of questions to ask him about his job.

The children were keen to have their questions answered!
Lots of us wanted to know all about the bones in our body.

Mike taught us about the uses of a stethoscope, to hear people's heart and to listen to their breathing.

Luckily Miss Lawrence's breathing was deemed healthy!
Mike brought in some crutches and frames to help us understand how people might walk if they need a little bit of help.

The children were thrilled to meet Mike, and hear all about his job in the hospital. I feel that we may have a lot of hospital role play coming up over the next few days..!
