Making posters in Year 2
Year 2 had fun looking at non-fiction texts and then created their own posters about a topic of their choice. The children came up with a wide variety of topics, from global warming to football!
We loved learning about each child's area of expertise.
Klimt artwork in Year 2
Taking inspiration from Gustav Klimt's painting, 'The Kiss', Year 2 have been collaging and painting to create their own interpretation of the masterpiece.
We used soft pastels to create bright, colourful circles. |
We twisted and stuck string onto gold card to create swirling spirals. |
We painted 'kissing' portraits of our own. |

Virtual Sports Day Results
Virtual Sports Day 2020
|
Wow! What a few weeks it has been, 71.7% of the school community submitted results for the Virtual Sports Day! This is an exceptional turn out!
This final week of the Windhill21 Virtual Sports Day and it has been an exciting
one. The scores have been very close with many changes in positions
from last week and throughout the week. There was an obvious surge in entries from a few houses and this has definitely made for a very
competitive few days!
Thank
you to all the parents who have sent me photos and videos over the past few
weeks, it has been fabulous to have an insight into your virtual sports days. Sorry if I haven't used your videos/pictures I have been overwhelmed with media!
To the children, you have been amazing! Your teachers have told me how much you
have enjoyed the past few weeks and have shown such passion, commitment and determination to
improve your scores for the good of your houses.
The greatest thanks must go
to Mr Bennett who has given up considerable time to enable this whole event to
occur. He has been the driving force behind the scoring system and without him
it wouldn’t have been half the event it has become.

Reception: Meeting our new teachers!
The children in Reception are becoming so grown up; so much so, that Miss Lawrence and Mrs Watson-Clarke think they might be ready for Year 1!
We have been getting to know our new teachers online and in person over the last couple of weeks.
We have enjoyed picnics and stories...
... playing on the big playground with Mrs Cantel and learning the new rules...
... and we have been sharing stories on the YouTube channel and meeting up over Zoom!
The children have also written letters and have had lots of really thoughtful questions for their new teachers, such as:
Do we need our listening ears?
What do we learn about in year 1?
and
Do we have carpet spaces?
They have even had some questions that have got Mrs Smith and Mrs Witney scratching their heads, like:
Where do rainbows end?
and
Why are oranges so juicy?
With questions like these, it looks like this group of Special Agents are ready for their next big adventure into Year 1!
