Making cheesy stars!

In Degas today we have been making cheesy stars in the lead up to Christmas!

We talked about preparation for cooking and what we need to do, the children told us that we need to wash our hands, get the ingredients and put on our aprons.

We talked about each part of the recipe and what we would need to do.

The children could name the cooking equipment and were able to use it all safely.

First we rolled the pastry:

Next we grated the cheese:

Sprinkled the cheese on the pastry, folded the pastry in half and re-rolled the pastry flattening and sealing the ends.

We used star cutters to cut out the shape:

Now it's time to cook them! We can't wait to see how they turn out!
