Today, Year 6 completed their World War I topic with a drama workshop based on the Christmas Truce of 1914. In role, they placed themselves in the shoes of soldiers in the British and German armies along the Western Front, reflecting thoughts and feelings of those at the time. In particular, they conveyed the similarities in experiences of soldiers on both sides, contemplating Christmas in a war zone. The power of their words and actions clearly showcased their understanding of this topic and how much they have been touched by it throughout the term.
