Science Day in Year 4

Our brains were buzzing today in Year 4 after a science extravaganza! The Royal Institute delivered an exciting and informative assembly before we continued exploring in class. After debating the question “What if water couldn’t freeze?”, we carried out fair tests to see what kinds of substances caused ice to melt faster. As predicted, salt caused ice to melt faster, but, most surprisingly, curry powder slowed down the melting process. We wondered whether it acted like a blanket around the ice. Some of us were keen to see if other powders or even Coca Cola could speed up the melting process.
