Automotive engineers for a day!

In year 4 we were very lucky to learn about engineering and, in particular automotive engineering, from a parent who works for the Ford Motor Company.  After learning about the modifications that engineers make to cars to protect passengers in the event of a crash, he then challenged us to create a model car that would protect an egg in the event of a crash.  We had an egg-cellent time and only two eggs got damaged during the event.  Most importantly, many children were inspired to think about engineering as a career option.
