Last week Year 3 had fun experimenting with Oil Pastel techniques, from stumbling to stippling. We then applied this to our Egyptian topic. Using a profile photograph the children transformed themselves into pharaohs wearing elaborate headdresses. The final touches were to create a patterned cartouche. Every child wrote their name in hieroglyphics in the middle of their cartouche. We think they look very effective!
