Year 5/6 Cup Final Vs Howe Green

K.A.S Gold League (Final)
Howegreen 0 - 0 Windhill21
(Howegreen win 5-4 on penalties)
Both teams did extremely well in their respective semi-finals- beating last year's champions 'Little Hallingbury and former 2 time champions 'Manor Fields'.
It was a game of few chances with Howegreen coming close either side of half time.
Windhill21 broke away on the counter a couple of times and nearly got in behind Howegreen's defence, only for some last ditch defending from the central defenders.
It was unfortunate that the game had to end with penalties and ultimately a decisive missed penalty from Windhill21 meant that Howegreen were crowned champions of the K.A.S Gold League 2018.

It has been a fantastic season for all players at Windhill21 and the children have developed greatly through the experiences.

Girls Football Tournament

On Wednesday 18th April, 9 of Windhill21's footballers went to Howegreen Primary School for the Bishop's Stortford Primary School girls football tournament. The girls worked well as a team against some tough competition winning 3 out of 9 games and drawing 2. There were some fantastic goals scored by Maya and Elizabeth. Maggie also won Goal Keeper of the tournament having only played in this position for two of the matches. With the blazing hot sun making the competition even harder for the girls, we are really proud to have placed joint 6th out of 9 teams. The girls seem to really enjoy the afternoon and have learnt a lot about playing as a team! Well done to you all, Maya, Brooke, Elizabeth, Grace, Jacqueline, Catherine, Maggie, Daisy and Holly. ⚽๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒž

Football Competitions

This week both the year 3/4 and 5/6 football teams took to the field at Howe Green for the school football tournament. The weather was hot as both sides played out the beautiful game.

The year 3 and 4 side put in a fantastic show finishing in second place - just 1 point from winning. Towns Class midfielder Dominic scooped the competitions 'Player of the Tournament' prize.

The year 5 and 6 side put in an equally great effort. After dominating the tournament, the side finished runners up in the cup final. Ben Schofield picked up the individual award this time but missed out on the final due to an unfortunate injury.

It was a great day with our sides playing the game fantastically and having great fun in the process.
