Getting ready for Christmas lunch

This morning we have been getting ourselves ready and festive for our Christmas lunch.
Although our classroom look as though there has been a tissue paper explosion, our hats are complete...

Year One Nativity

Born in a Barn
Year 1 nativity

Year one children did everyone proud last week with their performance of Born in a Barn.
The children were so loud and clear and showed excellent acting skills.  Nathaniel and Kitty bravely sang solos which melted everyone's hearts.

Warhol Christmas Selfie!

We had a brilliant day at school today, making our Christmas hats ready for Christmas hats. The children were beautifully behaved as always and had a growth mindset attitude!

Year One sing at Cornwall House

Year One Singing at Cornwall House
The children chatted with the elderly people and told them what they wanted for Christmas.

They performed songs from their nativity Born in a Barn.  The audience commented on how confident the children were.  They made their day!

Christmas Lunch Year 3

Here are Done Class Christmas hats ready for the Christmas lunch.

Big thank you!

Thank you so much to everybody that donated some food for our Christmas parties this afternoon!

We are really looking forward to playing some party games and enjoying the food!

Thank you for supporting what we do in Reception,

Kind regards,

Miss Clarke and Miss Lawrence

We did it: TNT

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

This was definitely a labour of love! This group had a slow start and actually realised that their initial efforts were not working as they had hoped.

Using their resilience, they decided to restart and worked extremely hard to create this amazing final design.

Well done: Jack, Kale and Lewis

We did it:: BMO

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

This design took the group an especially long time to complete due to all of the detail. Not only did they cover their structure in fringing with a tissue paper lid, but they used coloured card to create the face and buttons.

This has resulted in a really well finished design.

Well done: Harrison, Emre, Tyler and Lucius

Christmas posters

In Reception we worked as a team in our house groups to come up with our very own Christmas posters! We thought about what Christmas means to us.

We drew trees, reindeer, our houses at Christmas. We also drew snowmen and Santa Claus!

A visit from Father Christmas

Cassatt class had a visit from Father Christmas on Friday afternoon! He brought the children new games and books including, 'counting caterpillars', 'maths cube', 'abc cube', a general knowledge lift-the-flap book and an odd one out book.

Father Christmas in Degas class!

On Friday Degas had a very special visitor...

Father Christmas
He surprised us after lunch and bought us some presents to unwrap!

We were so happy when we opened the presents to find we had 4 new games to play together.
We played 'Counting Caterpillars' and 'Scaredy Cat' and we still have yet to play 'Frog Party' and 'Lunch Box Game.'

We did it: Rainbow

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

Lots of time, care and consideration was taken to create this stunning rainbow design - with many layers building up the colour.

Well done: Hannah, Ella, Amy and Evie

We did it - Unicorn

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

This group had to overcome one obstacle after another; they realised they did not have enough resources to complete their design in the desired colour so began the whole process again!

They created three dimensional elements including the ears and the horn, and added detail for the face to create this amazing overall effect...

Well done: Zsofia, Maryana, Chiara, Olivia and Makena

We did it - Porto FC

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

Wow, I have never seen such hard work and dedication; this group started slowly and unsure of how their design was going to come together.

But, with excellent team work and the delegation of roles, they really pulled together and created this fantastic football themed pinata.

Well done: Mati, William, Aidan, Matheus and Fred.

We did it - Maths cube

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

This group really overcome some barriers to ensure that their structure was sturdy and that the design was able to be applied to create this final masterpiece.

Well done: Tom, Thomas and Hugo

We did it - Bow Bear

Thanks to the children's growth mindset, resilience and general 'can do' attitude they are finally there and, if I do say so myself, they look amazing!

This hard working group even fashioned a three dimensional bow which they glued to the base of the ears.

Well done: Catherine, Ella, Leah, Emily and Miya

Dingle Dangle Father Christmas!

We've been getting into the Christmas spirit and have made these jolly Father Christmas decorations!
Ho!  Ho!  Ho!  Merry Christmas!

Sarro's Fabulous Fire Rescue Vehicles

In Sarro class we have had a brilliant time over the past few days; designing, testing, making and evaluating our superb fire rescue vehicles.  The children have worked incredibly hard, solving problems and helping each other.  What a lovely end to our Great Fire of London topic!

Spectacular Singing

On Tuesday, the children in choir sang brilliantly in their performance to their parents.  We even got the parents to join in too!  We sang songs from a few different countries including Un Elephant from France and finished off with a few festive songs as well. A lovely time was had by all!

Christmas Decorations

Check out our springy Father Christmases we made today!

Reception sing Christmas Pud song!

In Reception we have been having a lot of fun singing our Christmas Pud song! This is Mrs Cantel's favourite song during Christmas time.

Our Network Hands

We have been thinking about the people that are there to keep us safe, happy and cared for.

Here are Max and Marta's Network hands which they drew themselves:

They list family members as their Network as well as Teachers that look after them.

Snow Centre Trip (Day 2)

We have had an excellent second day at the Snow Centre (Hemel Hempstead). There was a huge gasp of amazement when the children looked on at the slopes from the warmth of the restaurant. The children then had 4 hours of fun learning how to ski, with a well earned lunch break in between. They focussed on how to stand, walk, slide, stop, hop and turn. It sounded easy but was really hard work on the snow! Well done to all the pupils for their determination and focus.

This afternoon Warhol class had great fun making their Christmas cards!

Fire Rescue Vehicles Day 2

This morning we spent some time adding the finishing touches to our fire rescue vehicles before creating a gallery of our work, giving each other positive feedback on our creations A fantastic project that was enjoyed by all the children!
