Towns Class have been discussing what makes us different and how we should celebrate our differences, rather than judge people because of them.
Children have been working in their Oracy Trios to discuss questions such as 'Are people ever treated differently because of their differences? If so, is this fair?'
We then read the story 'The Ugly Duckling' by Hans Christian Anderson and discussed how the 'Ugly Duckling' was treated because of his differences, if this was fair and how we would feel if we were in the duckling's shoes.
We completed freeze-frames to show the different stages of the story and then gave advice to someone who had been called names, advising them what they could do in order to feel better.
