Today, the Year 6 pupils took part in a mathematical smarties challenge. In groups of threes, the pupils worked together to investigate all mathematical possibilities associated with their one box of smarties. The children calculated percentages, ratios and averages of the different colours as well as devising bar charts, tally charts and pie charts from their results. The pupils presented their results using their own creative ideas and shared their findings with the class.
