Nursery Newsletter

We have had another amazing 2 weeks in nursery.  The children have been fantastic and have had a great time using the ‘car wash’ that we have set up outside on the track.

We would like to welcome Matilda, our new pupil, to nursery. She has settled in so well and has made some great friends.  Well done, Matilda.

We have been continuing to look at our topic of Transport by looking at emergency vehicles and construction vehicles.  The children have been linking their knowledge of vehicles and shapes and have been using 2D shapes to design their own forms of transport.  We have also been junk modeling vehicles.

In our SCARF (Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friends) lessons we have been thinking about how we can persevere on our activities and how, if we keep trying and don’t give up, we will get better and better at the skills we are learning.  We used the Book, ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ to help illustrate this when Gerald the Giraffe showed resilience

Our Religions around the World topic is Spring, and we have been linking the Easter story to new life at springtime, looking at baby animals, new buds on trees, new leaves and of course the Easter egg!  We used Purple Mash on the iPads to design our own patterns on Easter eggs.

We also learned abut life cycles, and in particular, the life cycle of a frog and created our own frog life cycles.

We have completed planting our sunflower seeds and will now see what happens to them over the coming weeks and months – will they grow to be taller than the children?
