Harvest Festival
This week we held a harvest festival assembly to give thanks for the food we eat.
The children were joined by their grand parents who were entertained by stories and songs. KS1 assembly was based on the theme of shelter and the children told the story of how the Jews celebrate harvest by building a Sukkot in their garden to eat their meals under.
Thank you for all your wonderful donations which went to Holy Trinity Church in Bishops Stortford who hold a shelter for homeless people in the winter time. They provide a hot meal and a safe warm place to stay.
Children from Year 1 and 2 then went to Cornwall House to sing their songs to the residents during their coffee morning.
The children had a chat with the elderly people and they even got to
have a drink and biscuit themselves!
