Why do people become homeless?

Mrs Militon came in today and gave year 4 an assembly linked to the homeless charity that she works for. She was impressed by their knowledge and used some reall life case studies to help us understand. Interestingly, being unable to pay rent or having a family breakdown is a common reason for homelessness in the UK. However, in other parts of the world, displacement occurs when families lose their homes and livelihoods as a result of natural disasters including earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
