How did the tortoise get his shell?
This term Year 1 are learning a traditional African tale called
'How the tortoise got his shell'.
They went into the immersion suite to see very large tortoises, including a video of one eating and moving. It was very funny.
They then wrote words to describe the tortoise on post it notes and placed them on the images.
Back in the classroom they put these words into sentences. They even extended their sentences by using 'and' or 'with'. We call these conjunctions.
We are even going to get a visit by a real tortoise!!!!!
