We are so proud of year 6 and how they have worked so hard right up until the end of term. Some highlights of the last fortnight have definitely been our non-chronological reports on mythical desert creatures. Who could have imagined that the North American Griffin was such a violent raptor? However, I guess that is little surprise since it is half-griffin, half-lion... In maths, we particularly loved proving that parallegrams have the same area as rectangles. We have completed our light topic in science by investigating the variables that affect shadow length and also by observing the effects of refraction. Without a shadow of a doubt though, the most interesting lesson was considering the Sainsburys's 2014 advert as a suitable historical source for learning about the Christmas truce of 1914. We were shocked to learn that there was very little historical evidence (from newspapers, diaries and letters) that the football match occurred.
