Year 2 have been working incredibly hard to write setting descriptions. The children have been exploring different ways of constructing sentences in an interesting and engaging way such as starting a sentence with an adverb or verb. We visited ‘Storyland’ in drama to recreate The Chocolate Room from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory in readiness for writing their Hot Task. The children are now experts in why cacao grows in the Brazilian rainforest and why the UK is not the right climate to do so. In Maths, the children are honing their number skills with lessons inspired by the Shanghai teachers. They are also working on their multiplication knowledge.
The children have loved our time in Forest School so far. We have made potions to give to the trees and we look forward to making tree spirits next week.
