Year 2 Science - sorting seeds

To kick-start Year 2's 'Plants' topic, the children were investigating where plants came from. 

The children used magnifying glasses to sort and group a variety of different seeds. 






They had lots of interesting ideas about how the seeds could be sorted: by colour, size, texture or type.








The children worked together to read clues and match the seed to the correct plant.







They used their observational skills to carefully draw and describe the seeds.
