Year 1 Newsletter

Year 1 enjoyed getting started on some gardening this week for the school garden. Nathan came in to help the children sow some seeds. First they filled their pots with compost and made a hole for the seed. After popping the seed in they covered it up with compost and patted it down. The pots are now ready in the greenhouse and we look forward to seeing how they grow!

In maths we have been practising counting in 1’s, 10’s and 2’s. We all helped to sort a big pile of odd socks into pairs! We then had lots of baskets with different objects in. We grouped the objects into pairs and counted them in twos.

Maybe you could try counting in 10’s or 2’s on your journey to school!
