Year 3 Mathematics

This week in Year 3, we have been learning about multiplication with a focus on our 3 and 4 times tables. We have been using different counting strategies as well as using arrays to help us learn.

This is Towns Class using cubes to make arrays. We then wrote the repeated addition for each array, followed by the multiplication number sentences. We also used a speaking frame to rehearse what we were doing.

I have ___ groups of ___

I have ___ cubes in total

This can be shown as __ + __ + ___ + ___ (etc)

___ groups of ___ = ____

This is also __ x __ = ___

This is  Riley Class enjoying solving an array challenge question!
