Children in Reception have been learning about healthy eating this week. After finding out that Harold the Giraffe eats some delicious fruit and cereal for breakfast, the children were curious to find out what everyone's favourite fruits were! After being shown a few simple ways to collect this information, the children got to work designing their own ways to gather data.
Although children chose tally charts, written responses and even their own colour coding system, the most popular way to gather data was by creating a pictograph.
The children were thoroughly engaged in this activity and some children were even keen to go around the school and ask other teachers what their favourite fruits were! Menia found out that Mr Wood's favourite fruit is a banana, whilst Mrs Price and Mrs Mann both prefer strawberries.
