Year 6 Investigating Shadows

There were many shadowy characters lurking around the Year 6 classrooms on Friday morning as the children investigated the question, ‘How does the distance between the light source and the opaque object affect the size of the shadow?’ The children were challenged to work scientifically to conduct a fair and accurate test, thinking about which variable should be changed, ensuring that all other variables remained constant, and deciding what needed to be measured.
