Today in Reception we made our own rockets as part of our science day activities!
We followed instructions to colour the rocket, cut it out and we used fat and thin straws to create the air flow!
We needed to problem solve some of our rockets as they were unable to work! After problem solving we discovered we hadn't covered the hole in the fat straw so the air was flowing through!
Next we tested all of our rockets to see if they worked!
We had predicted that the wind would help our rockets to take off. However, when we tested them outside, we noticed that the light wind did not provide enough force to significantly affect the paths of each rocket.
Rocket making, along with an explosively exciting visitor in our assembly, made for a very exciting Science day!
