Sometimes certain situations can be really frustrating, whether that’s falling out with a friend or forgetting homework and being unorganised, and knowing how to react to certain situations can sometimes be quite difficult for children. Therefore, in our PSHE lesson this week in year 5, the children were given a scale titled, How big is your problem. After looking at different scenarios, the children discussed (using the scale to help) how big each problem was. We then realised as a class, lots of these scenarios, such as forgetting homework or falling out with a friend, are low level problems. And yes these can cause frustration and irritation but the best way to react is to Stop and breathe, Think and then Do, to ensure we are nice and calm when we react to the situation.
