This afternoon, the children explored the difference between mass and weight through an experiment. The children chose 5 random objects from around the classroom and used a Newton meter to identify the mass (in grams) and the weight (in newtons) of each object. We discovered that roughly 1N is equal to 100g. This experiment also helped the children to understand the effect gravity has on objects.
