What if water couldn’t freeze?

This was one question pondered today the a Year 4.  After initially thinking of disastrous consequences like not having ice in cold drinks or ice cream, we further realised that animals like penguins and snow leopards would be without habitats and polar bears could starve without their ice sheets to hunt for food. We also wondered whether Bishops Stortford would be flooded if sea levels rose as a result of sea water being unable to freeze.
