In maths today, Rousseau class have been using bead strings to work out equivalent sums. This made it easier for us to answer questions of addition with larger numbers. We needed to use our rounding skills and found how important it was to take away the right amount!
More examples which the children could continue to practise at home:
48 + 17 = 50 + _____
148 + 17 = 150 + _____
348 + 17 = _____ + _____
Plus, we loved getting the bead strings out again!!
