In Reception, we have been looking at the changes that are taking place outside! During our trips to the forest, we have noticed that there are a lot more leaves on the ground and that they are now all different colours. We set off in groups to find different coloured leaves as a challenge to see how many colours we might come across.
Sorting by colour
As well as green, yellow, brown, orange and red, we also discovered multi coloured leaves, speckled leaves and even some that were bright pink!
After finding lots of different colours of leaves, we decided to make leaf collages and a group of children thought there might be enough colours to make a leaf rainbow! The children had brilliant discussions deciding which leaf would go where in the rainbow, noting the different shades of each colour.
