Year 4 have had such a busy day learning about America!!
We started the day by flying to and over America in a small propellered plane. We saw New York (The Statue of Liberty and Central Park), a baseball stadium, Niagara Falls, Las Vegas and all the landscapes in between!
After this, we learnt about American Presidents (past and present) before writing our own presidential election speech! We focused on Barack Obama for our Guided reading session and learnt that he actually grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia! We presented our speeches using the Oracy framework to remind us of our use of tone, pace, appropriate language and gestures to engage our audience. This afternoon, we split into groups and became experts on different states in America. We presented this information to each other so that everyone had the opportunity to explore the different states. Did you know that each state has its own flag?
