Year 3 Newsletter
Year 3 have had another fantastic few weeks, delving deep into their learning.
The children have been preparing for another writing task, this time linking to
our topic of Ancient Egypt. The children have been imagining they are explorers
venturing into an Ancient Egyptian crypt to find treasures buried with the
famous Pharaohs. To help them get into the character's shoes the children have
been using drama techniques including freeze framing to help them think about
the explorers thoughts and feelings throughout their adventures. As you can see
below, the children were amazing at recreating the scenes, considering the
character's experience.
The children have also been working really hard in science. We have been
learning all about Animals including humans. They have been exploring what our bodies need to
survive and how a balance diet keeps us healthy. This week the children have
started to explore the human skeleton, really understanding what our skeleton is
for and how many bones we actually have! The children are starting to learn the
scientific names of our bones too. You could quiz them at home to see what they
have remembered!
