In science this term, Year 4 are focusing on sound. In this week’s lesson, we looked at how sound travels from an object or person to our ear. We learnt key vocabulary including air particles, vibrations and sound waves. In Moore class we ‘became air particles’ vibrating against each other as the objects starts to vibrate - this way we could see easily how the sound travels through the air.
As Miss Woodcock played the guitar, we wiggled like air particles starting with those closest to the guitar.
We also looked at how sound travels through an object such as string. When the strong between two cups is pulled tight, the vibrations from our voices travel through the string to the other side.
