Year 5 Suffragette Workshop

This afternoon, the children in year 5 explored the art or powerful and persuasive speeches to help them with their topic write as Emmeline Pankhurst - leader of the Suffragette movement. The children will be taking the role of Emmeline Pankhurst and will deliver a speech to the ‘public’ in an attempt to convince more people to join the Suffragette movement. From this afternoon’s session, the children have identified that an effective speech needs to be assertive instead of passive or aggressive in order to get people to listen
