In Reception, we have been enjoying the story "Oi Frog" by Kes Gray and Jim Field. We have been working hard to identify rhyming words within the text and have been re-enacting the story using this knowledge alongside our oracy skills! We had a lot of fun putting together our own scripts to retell the story in our own way, with the frog getting rather grumpy about getting splinters when sitting on a log!
The children have particularly enjoyed coming up with different rhyming words for all the objects in the story, getting the frog to sit on a log, a dog and even in a bog! The writing outcomes have been ambitious and the children have worked hard on their presentation to ensure that they are able to read their own work back.
