Did you know.... penguin style!

"Did you know, these white and black birds with flippers instead of wings, can hold their breath for 20 minutes under water! This means that, they can hunt for their food for a long time!"

"Amazingly, these clever creatures that have adapted to live in Antarctica, stand on their heels. Consequently, their feet do not get cold on the freezing ice!"

"Surprisingly, the curious penguins that have black and white feathers, are covered in a thick layer of fat. As a result of this, they keep warm in the bitter Antarctica conditions."

(All of the above sentences were lifted from our literacy books!)

In English, we have been writing an explanation text to explain how penguins have adapted to live in Antarctica. We used causal adverbials to show the effect of these adaptations.
