Should they stay...or should they go?

Year Six children have been gripped in heated debate today, as they decided whether or not the portion of the Parthenon Marbles residing in the British Museum should remain in situ...or whether they should be sent back to Athens, and reunited with the other half of this historical frieze.
The debates - coupled with fact finding, newspaper articles and excellent home learning projects -  helped the students write letters to the Government either persuading the Ministers to keep the ancient sculptures in England, or to return them to the dedicated museum in the foothills of the Acropolis. The children showed real passion for their chosen stance, and showcased remarkable debating skills...they may all play a part in the future residence of these ancient artefacts!
