Goldsworthy class had a wonderful afternoon last week celebrating the end of our forest topic. We took our final trip of the term up to the forest where we found our fabulous forest expert, Mrs Rawding, and a gorgeous fire in the middle of the log circle. We listened carefully to the fire and described the sounds it made...popping, crackling, snapping, hissing.
Mrs Rawding taught us how to be safe while there is a fire going and her special safety position when kneeling close to it. Then we had to use the position when we toasted marshmallows! We also drank delicious hot chocolate and had biscuits too!
To get us into the Christmas spirit, we sang some Christmas songs and treated Mrs Rawding to a rendition of one of our Nativity songs too. It was a cracking afternoon to end the term and lots of fun was had by everyone.
