This afternoon, year 4 went on a trip to South America to visit the Amazon rainforest. We learnt that the Amazon rainforest is 17 times larger than the United Kingdom and is 5.5 million square kilometres. We realised how important the Amazon rainforest is in providing the earth with oxygen, being the home to many unique species and in providing humans with lots of necessary supplies.
Did you know, the Amazon rainforest is home to 390 billion trees!
