Stickman in nursery

This week in nursery we have read the story 'Stick Man' by Julia Donaldson and taken part in lots of great fun activities related to this book. First after reading the story we discussed where Stick Man's safe place was and then related this to our safe place which most children suggested home but a few did describe nursery as their happy safe place. Then we had a turn at painting a Stick Man as well as some children painting his tree house and his Stick Lady love and his Stick children three. Outside we carefully built our own Stick Man using sticks and string and enjoyed playing with him in the garden. We even did lots of counting with sticks, lining them up and counting to 10 in our magic maths area. On the writing table this week we had pencil control sheets following the stick man drawing circles and lines to help us get ready to learn to write the letters for our names.

We have all had a very busy but fun week!
