Year 6 newsletter

Lots happening in year 6, as always, with all the children continuing to work hard and make lots of progress. We know they must be feeling tired as the term starts to draw to a close, and we couldn't be more proud of their outstanding attitudes towards learning. Well done to ALL.

In writing this week, the children have finished non-chronological reports on their rather weird and wonderful lizards...their Texan reptiles have all been so original, so unique and so beautifully detailed, it's made us realise we have more than one budding David Attenborough in our midst! I am particularly wary of just how deadly and toxic so many of these creatures are!

In science, we have continued investigations into who could possibly have stolen Mrs Moore's precious laptop. Luckily, the year 6 children are scientifically savvy and used their knowledge of light to eliminate Miss Topcott pretty swiftly.
The children have also used their knowledge of light in art, and used beautiful artefacts from World War I to explore light and shadow. Taking care with their sketching techniques, some wonderful creations have been drawn.
We look forward to updating you with more adventures this week...the children will be completing a 'hot-write' on the lesser spotted North American Griffin, and we can't wait to finally find out more information about this mysterious beast. Until next time, the year 6 team.
